Dr. Bryan Schmitz
Dr. Bryan Schmitz grew up in Darke County, Ohio on his family’s dairy farm which his brother still owns and operates. He graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelors in Agriculture Engineering, and later with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After graduation he practiced dairy production medicine in Napoleon, Ohio for two years before getting married and moving to Indiana. Dr. Schmitz then worked as a mixed animal practitioner at the Lynn Veterinary Hospital until 2007 when he purchased the Hartford Animal Clinic. In June 2013 he opened a second office here in Farmland. He and his wife, Camela, have five beautiful children, 3 spoiled house cats, and two crazy dogs in their home near Economy, Indiana.
Dr. Camela Schmitz
Dr. Camela Schmitz learned the value of hard work on her family’s dairy farm located in eastern Ohio. She graduated from Mt. Vernon Nazarene College with a Bachelors in Biology, and then moved on to Ohio State where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Following graduation she worked at a mixed animal practice in Ashland, Ohio before moving to Indiana. Dr. Schmitz worked at Kurtz Veterinary Clinic in Hagerstown for two years before joining her husband in practice. In between running two clinics and chasing after her children, Dr. Camela enjoys gardening.
Kristin started working for Dr. Bryan and Camela Schmitz as a receptionist at their Hartford City location in March of 2009. She obtained her Associates degree in Human Services from Ivy Tech in 2012, but had grown to love the veterinary field and chose to stay with it. A native of Hagerstown, Kristin jumped at the opportunity to become Office Manager of our new location, and move back to her hometown. She lives on the outskirts of Economy with her son Bryce, Boston Terrier Lucy, and cat Kitty Kitterson. In her free time she enjoys being with friends and family, listening to live music, and riding motorcycles.
Samantha started working for Hartford Veterinary Services in September of 2013. She graduated from International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana with her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. After graduation she worked at Northeast Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital (N.I.V.E.S). While at N.I.V.E.S she specialized as a Surgery/Anesthesia Technician, and was certified to run a CAT scan. Samantha is originally from Greensfork and attended Hagerstown Jr/Sr High School. She currently resides in Modoc with her husband Aaron, and their Pit Bull Diesel. In her free time she enjoys playing volleyball and softball along with spending quality time with friends and family.
